The construction of the Medan Raya, Kuching substation has a contract value of RM 1,983,010.94. The client for the project is Sarawak Energy Berhad and Gabungan Binaan Jurutenaga Sdn Bhd as the main contractor. The project is a 33/11kV Substation that consists of 2 main levels, which are the Ground Floor and First Floor. The First Floor of the substation would consist of Battery, Control, 11kV Switchgear, and 33kV Switchgear Room. As for the Ground Floor, it is where the Cable Compartment Room is located. The Transformer Yard is located behind the substation. The construction of the substation would help to manage power supply in the Petra Jaya areas and allow for a contingency in the event of technical challenges. Overall, the substation is equipped with modern technology to accommodate the Sarawak Energy Berhad’s operations to serve the community better. The project started its operation on 22/11/2019 and it is currently still ongoing.
