Proposed Construction And Completion of Betong 33/11kV Substation, Betong, Sarawak (Civil & Building Works – Civil Structural – Solar Powerhouse using IBS System) (Contract Ref No: PLS-160145-C)

Project Summary:

The 33/11kV substation project in Betong, Sarawak was the first involvement of the company in substation construction. The value of the contract for this project was RM 1,570,400.00 and the client for the mentioned project was Sarawak Energy Berhad. Gabungan Binaan Jurutenaga Sdn Bhd was appointed as the main contractor to plan and manage the project development. The duration of the project was from 26/03/2018 until 25/01/2019. The substation mainly consists of two main parts which are the main building and transformer yard. The main building has two levels, ground and first floor. Cable compartment room is located at the ground floor. In addition, the first floor comprises Battery, Control, 11kV Switchgear, and 33kV Switchgear Room. Generally, the purpose of a substation is to step down high voltage electricity from the transmission system to lower voltage electricity so it can be easily supplied to homes and businesses through the distribution lines. Hence, with the construction of this substation, especially the Betong communities can enjoy better connectivity and accessibility on electricity supply.
